It came to my attention that I wanted to use my foot to draw in an attempt to release the ego. Obviously your foot has less control than your hands and creates a completely different mark and this I find interesting. Crushed charcoal was placed where I thought was the centre (misjudged it badly). The idea was to work away from the centre creating a cross with equal lengths at each side, quite like Robert Morris' drawings. The final aesthetic result is not particularly compelling but the process of using the foot for the work is what is important about the piece. This is why I filmed the process, which you can watch below the image.
